PTFE Tube Calculator — Replacement Interval
Estimate PTFE tube replacement interval based on printing temperature and hours.
How We Calculate This
PTFE Life Estimation
- Estimated life = Base tube life x Temperature factor
- Remaining life = Estimated life - Hours used
- Temperature factor: 1.5x below 200C, 1.0x at 200-220C, 0.6x at 220-240C, 0.3x at 240-260C
PTFE degradation is primarily driven by temperature. Standard tubes last around 500 hours at typical PLA temperatures, but this drops to 150 hours at ABS temperatures. Capricorn tubing lasts about 60% longer.
