Material Weight Calculator — Part Weight from Volume
Calculate the weight of a printed part from its volume and material density.
From your slicer or CAD
How We Calculate This
Weight Calculation
- Solid weight = Volume (cm³) x Density (g/cm³)
- Effective fill = Wall fraction + Interior fraction x Infill%
- Actual weight = Solid weight x Effective fill ratio
- Filament length = Used volume / Filament cross-section area
The calculation accounts for the fact that printed parts are not solid. The walls contribute a fixed solid shell, while the interior is partially filled based on infill percentage.
