Layer Height Calculator — Optimal Layers for Your Nozzle
Find optimal layer heights based on your nozzle size for quality, speed and draft prints.
How We Calculate This
Guidelines
- Minimum = Nozzle diameter x 0.10 (hard lower limit)
- Fine / Detail = Nozzle diameter x 0.25
- Standard / Optimal = Nozzle diameter x 0.50
- Draft / Fast = Nozzle diameter x 0.60
- Maximum = Nozzle diameter x 0.75
These ratios ensure the nozzle can properly flatten each layer for good adhesion while maintaining print quality.
