Resin Volume Calculator — Print Resin Usage
Estimate how much resin a print will consume based on model volume and supports.
From slicer or CAD
% of model volume
0 = solid print
How We Calculate This
Resin Volume Formulas
- Effective volume = Model volume x Hollow fraction (if hollowed)
- Support volume = Effective volume x Support percentage
- Total volume = (Effective volume + Support volume) x Copies
- 1 cm³ = 1 ml of resin
Hollowing reduces the effective volume significantly. A 2mm shell on a 30mm cube uses roughly 40% of the solid volume. The support percentage depends on model geometry — overhangs and islands need more support.
